Rick Parsons, dvm

Rick Parsons.JPG (11313 bytes)Dr. Parsons is a 1974 graduate of the U. C. Davis Veterinary School.  After graduation, he did an internship at the University of Colorado, then practiced for a year in the San Jose area before coming to Placerville in 1976 Dr. Parsons and is co-owner of Placerville Veterinary Clinic.  He is past president of the Mother Lode Veterinary Association and has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery.   Dr. Parsons is a Christian active in bible study, teaching, and choir.  With five children, most of his free time has been spent supporting school activities and sporting events, but when he has an opportunity Rick enjoys sailing and river rafting. 


Jon Vilhauer, dvm

Jon Vilhauer.JPG (10211 bytes)Dr. Vilhauer is a 1966 graduate of Michigan State University.  He practiced in Michigan and in El Cerrito California before entering the military.  As commanding officer of a veterinary unit in Vietnam, he was awarded a bronze star for his work with army scout dogs.  Dr. Vilhauer came to Placerville in 1972 and is co-owner of Placerville Veterinary Clinic. His hobbies include hiking, writing, and computer programming. He has published articles in veterinary journals and his animal hospital newsletter won first place in a national competition. Jon is a the author of this web page and also has a personal  web page, Quotations Worth Sharing,


Heather Carmody, dvm

Dr. Carmody is a 2005 U. C Davis graduate.  When asked why she became a veterinarian, Heather explained that ever since she was a little girl, being a veterinarian is all she ever wanted to do. She currently lives in Cameron Park with her four cats, Tooch, Annie, Dafira, and Isabel.  Heather brings a special interest in feline medicine to our practice and we are delighted that she has chosen to join us.
